As part of the KL House Construction Company’s design/build team, DMJM provided complete architecture and engineering design services to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for a new high-bay airfield structure. The crash/fire/rescue station project required site development and extensive architecture, engineering, and landscape design services, in addition to systems integration for the 27,000–square foot building. The station features emergency team housing, training and physical fitness facilities, food preparation and dining facilities, emergency vehicle and apparatus maintenance and support bays, and an observation room designed to provide an unobstructed view of the runway. Passive solar and acoustical features are incorporated in the masonry structure, which complies with all applicable U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and military design standards. |
